Evergreens -
- These are more expensive compared to deciduous trees but it is worth paying the price because of their perennial beauty and prolonged existence. Evergreens range from the broadleaved shrubs like rhododendron and laurel to the tall-needled cone-bearing pines and stately spruces. The giant spruces and firs are most effective as windscreens; the spreading evergreen shrubs are widely used because of their pleasant appearance and also because they can be shaped and trimmed and do well in the shade. The most commonly used evergreen is Pine (red pine, white pine, Ponderosa pine, Austrian pine, Globe mugho pine), Spruce (Norway spruce, White spruce, Colorado blue spruce), Douglas fir, Arbor vitae to name a few.
- Rake the area to remove leaves, sticks and other debris.
- Sprinkle the area with fresh earth, filling in any low spots
- Apply seeds, choose shade or sun seeds according to the conditions.
- Apply slow-release fertilizer or a natural fertilizer.
- Sprinkle the area with some more fresh topsoil, which would help hold the seeds in place, protect them from birds, and feed the seedlings.
Steps to renovate your Lawn-
Research which plants and trees and determine which are best for surviving the seasons of your area. There are shrubs that are appropriate and will do well in your lawn area during the summer season. During the autumn season, there are trees and a different variety of that you can plant that will show off the beauty of your garden. Choose plant, shrub, flower or trees that bloom and have colorful flora.
After planting make sure you water them well avoiding insufficient irrigation. Fertilize the plants according to their requirements. When on a vacation keep somebody for looking after your lawn and watering.
